Portable Facilities Case Study

Portable buildingsGet Manic has successfully designed and implemented an SEO strategy for Portable Facilities (UK) that led visitor numbers to triple and caused a dramatic increase in sales.

The Client

Portable Facilities (UK) is the UK’s leading supplier for new and used portable cabins and modular buildings. Established in 2005, this
Hampshire-based company specialises in providing high-quality, turnkey solutions for a range of customers at affordable prices. They offer a variety of new and refurbished prefabricated structures from a one-person building to modular complexes.

The Challenge

Get Manic was approached by Portable Facilities in August 2013 after the owner, Richard, found us ranking at #1 for SEO Chichester. Their original website had suffered from a Google penalty passed on from a previous SEO firm, and had been rebuilt by another company who were lacking the appropriate SEO knowledge. As a result, the website was ranking poorly in all areas, and they were spending £1,000 each month on Google AdWords and PPC campaigns in an attempt to gain coverage. Portable Facilities wanted us to optimise their website so it achieved front-page rankings for a number of keywords, with a particular focus on the used and refurbished market. They also wanted to capture organic search traffic from a broader range of keywords relevant to their industry.

PFUK’s organic traffic since partnership with Get Manic

The Solution

The website required a stronger organisation and structure to enable the search engine spiders to crawl the site and correctly index its content. After a few days research, we devised and implemented an SEO optimisation strategy for each of the pages, adding keyword-rich content in the appropriate density. This achieved a rapid change in the website’s rankings after the first two weeks. We also implemented a blogging campaign, targeting a range of industry keywords and publishing high-quality, relevant articles on a regular basis. This enabled us to incorporate a number of long-tail keywords and build in some internal links.

PFUK’s need for paid traffic plumetted since taking on Get Manic for SEO

The Results

Portable Facilities halted their AdWords and PPC campaigns at Christmas 2013 to preserve their marketing budget over the festive season. However, in January 2014 they didn’t need to switch them back on – the results from the first 12 weeks of working with Get Manic had led to a rise in organic business listings, with visitor numbers tripling. In addition, Portable Facilities saw a rise in genuine enquiries for their portable cabins and modular buildings, which has led to a dramatic increase in sales, especially in the used and refurbished market. The campaign has been so successful in attracting organic visitors and qualified leads that Portable Facilities has just doubled its yard space to meet demand and asked us to design and build a brand new website, which we’re currently working on.

Organic traffic has completely replaced and greatly exceeded PFUK’s paid traffic

The Client Says

‘I find James and George at Get Manic very enthusiastic and understanding of our requirements – it often feels as if we have our own in-house SEO team all pulling in the same direction to achieve the results we all want. Get Manic are very proactive in their approach which is refreshing as all other SEO companies I have used in the past are at best reactive.’

Richard, Portable Facilities (UK)

It’s been a pleasure working with Richard and the team at Portable Facilities and seeing their business achieve the success it deserves. We look
forward to working with them on their new website and future SEO campaigns.
